Just a calm, relaxing day

Today was just about perfect.

7 am--ward council meeting
8 am--Tom made gluten free Swedish pancakes and orange juice for breakfast
8:30 am--Linda arrived
9 am--Church where we had wonderful talks, a great Sunday School lesson and I was able to attend YW with Hannah. Here's the gift Hannah gave me.

12:30 pm--PHONE CALL with Tim!
4 pm--Dinner with John and Laney, complete with the cheesecake I made for the occasion.

After hearing about struggles some of my friends are going through this was a perfect day. We are all safe, we were all together and enjoying each other's company. What more could a mom want?

Ode to Chocolate

Oh, chocolate, how I love thee.

I never knew you could bring joy for so long.

In days past you endured one afternoon,

Bringing joy as you melted in my mouth.

Yet this year was different.

When you came into my life on Mother’s Day, I was on a diet.

I tucked you in the freezer, dreaming of the day

When I would once again let you melt in my mouth and bring me joy.

The day finally arrived,

And I learned just how sweet you really are.

Bit by bit you melted in my mouth.

I savored every morsel.

And you lasted two weeks!

Look what I found!

I woke up bright and early this morning and couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to spend the time looking through my closet again. I found the shorts I haven't been able to wear since Hannah was a baby! I currently weigh a few pounds less than I did when James and Hannah were born. My plateau is OVER!

Oh, and for the first time since we moved to Idaho I got the "renew by mail" thing for my driver's license. Tom gets them almost every time, but this is the first time for me. Problem is...I already look quite a bit different than my photo. I'll be looking even more different by then...so I guess I'd better just go in and get a new photo taken for my license.

And this is my Mother's day gift from Tom. He found it at a yard sale. Pecan wood table and matching chairs. This is the nicest table we've had so far, and it's sturdy!

I'd better be careful. Last year my gift was a new recliner...and then I crushed my foot and used the recliner ALOT.
