Fake Eggs

Ever start making something and then find you don't have enough eggs? Here's a solution.

No, you can't fry them up and eat them, but they work great in baked items. Cookies do turn out a bit crispier than usual, but I've used them in waffle batter with no problem.

1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 Tbsp water
1 1/2 Tbsp oil

makes one egg

Happy cooking!

  1. Yep, that's the sub I use most often. It really works great! Even in recipes that already have oil, water and baking soda in them, you are supposed to mix the concoction together and then mix it into wet ingredients. You probably knew that, though. I have some FANTASTIC recipes for muffins, cakes, and pancakes that my family cannot get enough of!
