Birthday and Auction

Tom is 50.

He says he feels like he is on top of the world...and driving us crazy to prove it. I almost asked if he had reverted to teenage. I'm wondering how we got so old. I used to look at my parents and think 50 was so far away...and here we are. It's so weird.

Last night was the scout auction. Our funds were a bit tight this year so we took cash and when the cash was gone, we were done. I let Tom control the money because I had some Relief Society stuff to do. The results...3 cakes, a plate of peanut clusters and a groovy picture. We gave one cake to one of the high priests and another to a young family in the ward. But I wasn't letting Katie's cake out of my sight. This cake is better than "Better Than Sex" cake. It's heavenly.

What mama likes...

Tim knows what his mama likes. He sent me a Snickers bar for Mother's Day, a box of chocolates for my birthday and the SD card from his camera with pictures on it!

The chocolate is tucked away for after this diet is over...Look out, chocolate! July 4 is open season on chocolate!

The photos are now on my computer and being enjoyed thoroughly.

Birthday again

Tim is 19 today! Happy birthday, Tim!

This cake was a result of the service auction we had last month for the Relief Society birthday. Helen Lester made the cake and it was delicious. I'm so glad I didn't have to make all the cakes this year.

Birthdays

I'm falling behind on blogging this month. It's birthday month here at our house and I haven't written about it yet.

On April 4 we had John at home for his birthday. It was great having him here and celebrating his 22nd birthday together. After two years of not having him to celebrate with we appreciated the time together much more. The fact that it was also Easter AND one of the greatest General Conferences ever was just frosting on the cake. Our friend Pam made a cheesecake for John's birthday and it was delicious. Thanks to Pam for that wonderful service.

Today was James' birthday. He's 15 now. It's great having adult children. All those years of throwing parties while the kids were young...now I get to reap the rewards...LOL. James planned a party at the park, and I talked Tim, John and Laney into being the chaparones for the party. I just sat here for 3 hours doing whatever I wanted and making dinner. The kids came home to eat tacos (a great easy meal for a whole bunch of teenagers) and then I ditched to attend a stake Relief Society leadership meeting while Tim, John and Laney held down the fort at home.

James wanted a spongebob cake so this is what I came up with late last night. (I started before work, but the cake mix cake fell apart and I had to start over from scratch after work.)

Next is Tim's birthday next week.

Special day

October 20, 2009

Happy Birthday, Tom!

I've been so blessed to have this wonderful man in my life for 25 years now. That's more than half my life. I truly can't think of what life would be without him. I think it would be totally boring, actually.

Thanks, Tom, for all the great adventures through the years.

I love having parties with teenagers. I just had to be on hand to supervise. They took care of everything else. The entire time...when they were in the living room, I was in the family room. Or when they were outside I was in the house! lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It's birthday season at the Jenson house.

Johnathan turned 21 on April 4. I can't believe I have a 21 year old son. Wow! How did that happen?

Tim will be 18 on April 22. I can't believe that one either.

And James will turn 14 on April 15.

It's that time again! Today on the way home from church the boys told me that they may have interviews with the bishop this week. Ordinations are coming...Tim to an Elder and James to teacher. I love these milestones, but the time goes so fast. It was only two years ago that we had an ordination party...John was ordained an Elder by Tom, then John ordained Tim a priest, and then Tim ordained James a deacon. It took about 15 minutes.
We are so blessed.

Fun Memory

I was doing a questionaire my cousin had done on facebook and came across the following question. It was so fun to think of this memory that I thought I'd share it here.

Ever had someone sing to you?

On my mission the lady and girls we lived with and our neighbor serenaded me on my birthday to wake me up.

I thought it was the alarm clock and told my companion to turn it off! Finally, I woke up.
